    Humanities Iowa Speaker, David Connon will be presenting his program entitled "Josiah Bushnell Grinnell and the Iowa Underground Railroad" at the Oskaloosa Public Library.
    The program is about how J.B. Grinnell and other Grinnell residents helped fugitive slaves pass through their town before the Civil War.  The program will also cover abolitionist John Brown’s visit to Grinnell, and the riot over the presence of fugitive slaves in public schools.  This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Oskaloosa Public Library.
